THE WORLD OF HENRY PURCELL:
ENGLISH MUSIC OF THE 17TH CENTURY

Sunday, October 8th – 4:00 pm

The New York-based early music ensemble, Circle of Friends, returns to the Music at the Meetinghouse series with featured Grammy-nominated soprano, Nell Snaidas, to present a concert dedicated to the great English Baroque composer, Henry Purcell.

The program explores the depth of Purcell’s output, from sweet, wistful songs, to trio sonatas, instrumental dance music, and excerpts from Purcell’s operas, Dido & Aeneas and King Arthur.

This is the 14th Annual Roslyn Young Memorial Concert and the eighth year to be included in the Music at the Meetinghouse series.

Tickets are $20, available at the door; under 18 admitted free. There will be a pre-concert talk at 3:15pm, and a reception at Angela Hubley Hall following the concert.
