This seven-piece professional jazz band generates energy and excitement wherever they perform! Based here in Connecticut, they play the classic melodies from the 1920s through the 1940s that everyone wants to hear. This event is FREE to the public, although a free-will offering will be taken to help support the Organ Restoration Fund.
THE GRAND TOUR
Renaissance Music from England to the Continent
We invite you to join us this year as the New York-based period instrument ensemble, Primavera Consort, returns to Music at the Meetinghouse to present a lively and varied program of vocal and instrumental Renaissance music from England, France and Spain. Susan Iadone, a well-know early music specialist, directs the ensemble of recorders and viols, and they are joined by soprano, Sarah Brailey. This is the 15th Annual Roslyn Young Memorial Concert, and the ninth year to be included in the Music at the Meetinghouse series. Tickets are $20, available at the door; under 18 admitted free. There will be a pre-concert talk at 3:15 pm, and a reception at Angela Hubley Hall following the concert.
